Game-based learning is an approach to learning that inputs game in the learning environment with the aim of boosting learning outcomes. It takes planning, critical and logical thinking with problem solving approaches to be able to triumph in games. To explore the power of games in learning and to learn more about games, I volunteered for the gamify project.

My pupils improved their skills in Scrabble and Chess. The programme ran for six weeks. Throughout this period, class attendance and punctuality rates significantly increased. Assignment and classwork turn out rates also increased among participants.

Because participants wrote a baseline and an endline test and also because we observed them throughout the active life of the programme, we were able to determine the rate of improvement in such skills as collaboration, communication, anagram, tolerance, and logical thinking. This project further convinced me that learning does not necessarily takes place in a rigid, traditional manner.
